  1. Cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla essence to it.

  3. Combine flour, baking powder & baking soda

  6. Place 1 tsp each of nutella dollops on a baking paper and freeze it for minimum 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 mins, divide the cookie dough into 6, place a piece of frozen nutella in the centre of each cookie and roll it.Flatten it slightly.
  8. Place cookie on a baking plate or any plate that can fit in your kadhai.
  9. In a Kadhai, add salt and place a stand. The stand should have a height of at least 1 inch.
  10. Pre heat the kadhai, place the cookie plate and cook on low flame for 15 to 18 minutes. Do not over bake these.
  11. Cool the cookies on a wire rack and once they come to room temperature they will become firm.
  12. For Vanilla Star Cookies steps as follows, first take Soft butter & cream it along with the icing sugar, add vanilla essence to it and mix it.
  13. Mix it well & add maida,baking powder to this. Lightly mix it. It will look crumbled.Transfer to the platform and divide this into 2 parts in the ratio 2:1
  14. Add milk in each portion to bind it. In the larger portion, add red food colouring. Roll out the red dough to a thickness of 1/2 cm and cut star/hearts using a cutter
  15. Layer all the hearts, one on top of each other with a light layer of water in between. Freeze this for 30 minutes.Remove from the freezer and wrap the white dough around the star/ heart. Roll it to remove all the cracks.
  16. Refrigerate this for 30 minutes. Slice this to a thickness of 1/2 cm. place the cookies on a plate lined with parchment / baking paper. Pre heat the kadhai with salt at the bottom & a stand. Place the plate of cookies on it.
  17. Cook on low flame for about 20 mins. Check every 5 to 6 minutes. Cook it only until you get the slightly golden colour on the edges.
  18. Let the cookies cool. Store in an air tight container. Stay well upto 10 days.
